Position / Job Type: Full-time positions in Government Law Colleges under the Tamil Nadu Legal Educational Service.

Role:

  • Assistant Professor: Responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate law courses, developing curriculum, guiding students in research, and participating in academic activities.
  • Associate Professor: In addition to teaching responsibilities, expected to lead research initiatives, mentor junior faculty, and contribute to administrative duties within the department.
  • Assistant Professor (Pre-Law): Focus on teaching foundational subjects relevant to law, such as Economics, Sociology, Political Science, or English, to pre-law students.

Minimum Eligibility:

  • Assistant Professor:
    • Master’s Degree in Law with at least 55% marks from a recognized university.
    • Must have qualified NET/SLET/SET.
    • Candidates with a Ph.D. in Law are exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement.
  • Associate Professor:
    • Ph.D. in Law.
    • Master’s Degree in Law with at least 55% marks.
    • Minimum of 8 years of teaching experience in a recognized institution.
    • A minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
    • A total research score of 75 as per UGC Regulations, 2018.
    • Must have qualified NET/SLET/SET, with exemptions applicable as per UGC guidelines.
  • Assistant Professor (Pre-Law):
    • M.A. in relevant subjects (Economics, Sociology, Political Science, or English) with 55% marks.
    • Must have qualified NET/SLET/SET.
    • Candidates with a Ph.D. are exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lectures and conduct seminars in specialized subjects.
  • Develop and update course materials and curricula.
  • Guide and mentor students in academic and research activities.
  • Engage in scholarly research and publish findings in reputable journals.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the academic community.

Salary:

  • Associate Professor: ₹1,31,400 – ₹2,17,100 per month.
  • Assistant Professor: ₹68,900 – ₹2,05,500 per month.
  • Assistant Professor (Pre-Law): ₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400 per month.
