Office of Hon’ble Mr. Justice R. Mahadevan — Chambers of a sitting Judge of the Supreme Court of India. The office assists the Judge in case preparation, legal research and court work, offering interns direct exposure to Supreme Court practice and reasoning.

Position / Vacancies:

Eligibility & Requirements:

  • Law students in:
    – 3rd year or above of the 5-year integrated law program, or
    – 2nd year or above of the 3-year LL.B. program.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Professionalism, punctuality, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Comfortable observing court proceedings and producing detailed case notes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare case notes and bench summaries.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and produce memos.
  • Observe court proceedings and assist in drafting orders/notes as required.
  • Assist judicial clerk(s)/office staff with documentation and filing related to matters before the Court.

Duration & Timing:

  • Duration varies as per selected month (typical internships are 2–4 weeks, depending on office needs) — rolling monthly intakes permitted through January 2026.
  • Internships commence on the dates mutually agreed with the office.

Mode:

  • Physical / In-office (attendance at the Supreme Court required)

Stipend:

  • Not specified

Last Date to Apply:

  • 22nd of the preceding month for the month you wish to intern (e.g., for a December internship the application must be received by 22 November).
  • Shortlisted candidates will be informed by 24th of the preceding month and interviewed virtually thereafter.
