About the Opportunity:
The NITI Aayog Internship Scheme (initiated in 2015) offers students pursuing undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, or research programs an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public policy, governance, and socio-economic development.

Duration:
Minimum 6 weeks and up to 6 months

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Undergraduate students: Completed/appeared in term-end exams of 2nd year (4th semester) with 85% marks or above in Class XII.
  • Graduate students: Completed/appeared in term-end exams of 1st year (2nd semester) with 70% marks or above in graduation.
  • Postgraduates / Ph.D. candidates: 70% or equivalent in graduation.
  • Students who have completed graduation/postgraduation and are waiting for higher studies (within 6 months of result declaration) are also eligible.
  • Bonafide students from recognized universities/institutions in India or abroad.

Key Features:

  • Work on real-time policy research projects under the supervision of NITI Aayog officials.
  • Exposure to policy formulation, data analysis, and government functioning.
  • Interact with experts in governance, economics, technology, and development sectors.

Application Details:

  • Applications must be submitted online through the NITI Aayog website.
  • Apply by 10 November 2025.
  • Applications can be made up to six months in advance, but not later than two months before the desired internship month.
  • Applicants must indicate their specific area of interest while applying.
  • Selected candidates must produce original mark sheets and No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their institution at the time of joining (as per format in Annexure ‘C’).
