Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is India’s central bank responsible for regulating the banking system, issuing currency, and maintaining monetary stability under the Ministry of Finance.

About the Opportunity:
RBI invites applications for its Summer Placement Programme for students pursuing postgraduate, integrated five-year programmes, or professional law degrees. This internship offers exposure to policy research, financial regulation, banking operations, and economic analysis.

Location:
RBI Offices across India (applicants may apply only to the Control Office covering the state where their college/institute is located)

Position / Vacancies:

  • Summer Trainee
  • Maximum intake: 125 students per year

Eligibility:

  • Students pursuing PG programmes
  • Students in integrated 5-year courses in Management, Statistics, Law, Commerce, Economics, Econometrics, Banking or Finance
  • Students in 3-year full-time professional LL.B. programmes from reputed Indian institutions
  • Only students in the penultimate year of their course may apply
  • Degrees must be from recognized institutions
  • Accurate conversion of CGPA/SGPA to percentage is mandatory where applicable

Key Responsibilities / Role:

  • Work on RBI-assigned projects
  • Assist in economic and financial research
  • Provide support in policy, supervision or financial market departments
  • Prepare reports and present project findings
  • Submit declaration of secrecy before joining

Duration:

  • Up to 3 months (April–July)

Mode:

  • Physical (on-site at allotted RBI office)

Stipend:

  • ₹20,000 per month
  • Outstation selected trainees reimbursed AC II Tier rail fare for joining

Selection:

  • Shortlisting in January/February
  • Interviews at respective RBI offices (travel expense borne by candidates)
  • Final selection announced in February/March

Last Date to Apply:
