National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India — A statutory public body established on 12 October 1993 under the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993. The Commission is mandated to promote and protect human rights, and to foster human rights literacy and awareness across the country.

New Delhi (Offline / On-site at NHRC Headquarters)

Position / Vacancies:

  • Winter Internship Programme (WIP) 2025 — Student Interns
  • Seats: 80
  • Duration: 4 weeks — from 15th December 2025 (Monday) to 9th January 2026 (Friday)

Stipend:
₹12,000 (Rupees Twelve Thousand only) for the full duration of the internship.
Travel Allowance: Interns from outside Delhi will be reimbursed ordinary second-class train fare (to and from New Delhi via the shortest route).

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Students who have completed 3 years or VI Semester of a 5-year BA/BBA.LLB course and are currently in 4th or 5th year.
  • Students pursuing LL.M. are eligible.
  • Minimum 60% marks in Class XII.
  • Applicants must submit all required documents; incomplete applications will be rejected.

Key Components / Responsibilities:

  • Classroom sessions on human rights issues and law.
  • Interaction with Hon’ble Chairperson, Members, and senior officers of NHRC.
  • Research project work on contemporary human rights issues.
  • Book review and discussion activities.
  • Screening of films and thematic discussions on issues like child labour, trafficking, rights of the elderly, health, and education.
  • Field visits to institutions such as Police Stations, Jails, NGOs, Parliament House, NCW, NGT, NALSA, NCPCR, and the Supreme Court of India.

Awards & Recognition:

  • Certificate of Participation (based on attendance, punctuality, discipline, and project performance).
  • Cash Prizes: ₹15,000 / ₹10,000 / ₹5,000 for top three Group Research Projects.
  • Book prizes (up to ₹1,000 value each) for top performers in Book Review and Declamation contests.
