Position:

  • Assistant Legal Counsel
  • Market Securities Services (MSS) – Corporate & Investment Banking

Eligibility:

  • Law degree from a recognised Indian or overseas university
  • 2 years of experience in legal processes involving drafting or vetting agreements and contracts
  • Proven agreement and contract drafting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Understanding of Global Markets business and products
  • Awareness of simple and complex deal structures
  • Understanding of Common Law, particularly UK law

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and execute traded market documentation, including ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, Custody Agreements, GMRAs, GMSLAs, guarantees, and other industry-standard documents
  • Conduct detailed legal and analytical research
  • Review counterparty constitutional documents and applicable jurisdictional requirements
  • Manage assigned matters through completion
  • Coordinate with Corporate & Investment Banking teams and other stakeholders
  • Maintain timely and accurate internal database updates
  • Ensure documentation provides appropriate legal and credit protection for HSBC
  • Negotiate treasury product documentation efficiently
  • Provide practical support to internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with minimal supervision and take ownership of assigned matters
  • Meet quick turnaround requirements and complete mandatory training
