Aditya Birla Capital Limited, part of the Aditya Birla Group’s Financial Services business, is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its Gold Loan business across product structuring, branch operations, contracts, regulatory compliance, and legal risk management.

Location:

  • R-Tech Park, Goregaon, Mumbai, Maharashtra

Position:

  • Financial Services – Gold Loan Business

Eligibility:

  • LL.B. qualification
  • 4–5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong knowledge of Banking Law, Contract Law, Corporate Law, Arbitration, Commercial Litigation, Corporate Governance, Employment Law, Dispute Resolution, Due Diligence, and Litigation

Responsibilities:

Business Advisory & Transaction Support:

  • Provide day-to-day legal support to the Gold Loan business
  • Advise on products, processes, customer journeys, and branch operations
  • Support loan origination, disbursement, renewals, auctions, and recovery matters
  • Identify legal risks and provide practical business-oriented solutions

Documentation & Contract Management:

  • Draft, review, standardise, and negotiate gold loan agreements, pledge forms, and security documents
  • Review auction terms, vendor/service agreements, lease agreements, and empanelment contracts
  • Review customer communication templates
  • Ensure documentation is legally enforceable and regulatory compliant

Regulatory & Compliance Advisory:

  • Advise on RBI regulations applicable to NBFCs
  • Provide guidance on Fair Practices Code, KYC/AML, and customer grievance requirements
  • Advise on outsourcing, data privacy, and information security requirements
  • Monitor regulatory developments affecting the Gold Loan business

Legal Risk Management:

  • Assess legal implications of new products, processes, and initiatives
  • Review policies, SOPs, and operational manuals
  • Support risk assessments and internal control reviews
  • Develop preventive legal risk mitigation measures
