Position: Legal Counsel
Location: Jamshedpur
Role Focus: Indirect tax litigation (GST, Excise, Service Tax)
Eligibility
- LL.B. (3-year or 5-year program)
- Minimum 3 years of active experience in GST litigation
- Strong understanding of the hierarchy and procedures of GST, Excise, and Service Tax authorities
- Thorough knowledge of GST, Central Excise, Service Tax statutes, and related rules (cenvat credit, valuation, appeals, tariff, etc.)
- Familiarity with allied laws: CPC, IPC, CrPC, Evidence Act, Contract Act
- Ability to brief and coordinate effectively with external advocates
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to mentor junior team members
- Highly motivated and result-driven
- Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and computer applications
Responsibilities (Indicative)
- Handle indirect tax litigation at the adjudication level and appellate authorities
- Manage case files, prepare submissions, and strategize litigation
- Brief and coordinate with external counsels
- Ensure legal compliance and support internal stakeholders
