Vidhi works closely with Ministries of the Government of India, State Governments, and public institutions, providing research and drafting support across the law-making process, while also publishing independent research critical to India’s future governance.

Position / Vacancies:

  • Project Fellow – Law & Technology / Digital Public Infrastructure

Nature of Engagement:

  • Full-time
  • Contract duration: 3 months (renewable subject to performance)

Eligibility:

  • Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate degree in Law
  • 1–2 years of demonstrable work experience in law & technology or public policy
    (A Master’s degree will be counted as one year of work experience)
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-quality legal, policy, and comparative research on Indian and international frameworks
  • Research legal and policy issues relating to Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) including:
    – Digital payments
    – Digital identity
    – Data exchanges
    – Green and climate-linked lending
  • Work on emerging areas of the digital economy such as privacy, data governance, AI ethics & governance, IT governance, and fintech regulation
  • Assist with legislative drafting including reports, policies, draft laws, rules, and regulations
  • Prepare research notes, presentations, and dissemination materials
  • Coordinate and attend meetings with government officials, academics, multilateral institutions, and stakeholders
  • Organise and participate in consultations to inform and disseminate research outputs
