Job Opportunity: Research Associate & Field Investigator – “A Socio-Legal Perspective of Nazul Land in Punjab”

Project under the Punjab State Farmers’ & Farm Workers Commission, supervised by Dr. Rajdeep Singh, Department of Law, Punjabi University, Patiala.

Location:
Punjab (Fieldwork across project sites; office coordination at Punjabi University, Patiala)

Position / Vacancies:

  • Research Associate — 1 post
  • Field Investigator — 1 post
    (Total: 2 positions)

Job Type / Duration:

  • Fixed-term (up to 3 months or until completion of data collection, whichever is earlier)

Eligibility & Requirements:

  • Research Associate: LL.M. with minimum 60% marks, or NET / Ph.D.
  • Field Investigator: LL.M. with minimum 60% marks.
    Desirable: Expertise in land laws and revenue records; experience in legal research, questionnaire development and data collection; proficiency in MS Office and Excel; postgraduate background in law; prior academic/field experience on land laws/revenue records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research Associate: Lead legal research, questionnaire design, data analysis and report drafting under project supervision.
  • Field Investigator: Conduct field data collection, interact with stakeholders, assist in verification of revenue/land records and support data entry and coordination.

Fellowship / Remuneration:

  • Research Associate: ₹25,000 per month
  • Field Investigator: ₹15,000 per month
