Position:
- Senior Legal Counsel – Group Commercial Legal
- Team: Group Commercial Legal Centre of Excellence (COE)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law
- Strong experience in commercial and technology contracts
- Knowledge of intellectual property and data protection frameworks
- Experience negotiating complex global contracts
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in outsourcing and procurement (preferred)
- Banking sector experience (preferred but not mandatory)
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Leadership
- Support execution of the Group Commercial Legal strategy
- Lead and manage a team of Legal Counsels
- Provide supervision, coaching, and escalation support
- Drive talent development and performance management
- Engage stakeholders to improve legal service delivery
- Commercial & Technology Contract Management
• Draft, review, and negotiate procurement contracts including:
• Software, SaaS, and cloud agreements
• Market data and subscription licenses
• Hardware maintenance and support contracts
• Business process outsourcing agreements
• Professional services agreements
• Intragroup servicing arrangements
• Provide legal advice on outsourcing, technology procurement, and data protection
• Identify and mitigate legal risks - Governance & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to the Group Contracts Policy and Third-Party Risk Management Framework
• Maintain Department Operating Instructions and contract playbooks
• Deliver legal training to stakeholders
• Manage external counsel and monitor legal spend - Risk & Dispute Management
• Identify and manage legal and operational risks
• Support resolution of vendor disputes and pre-litigation matters
• Coordinate regulatory remediation and compliance initiatives - Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work closely with Supply Chain Management and global legal teams
• Coordinate with enterprise legal, business functions, and regulatory teams
