Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel

Position / Job Type: Full-Time

Role: The Senior Legal Counsel will provide strategic and operational legal services across various areas of law to support Ather Energy’s business and growth objectives. This includes delivering high-quality legal counsel, supporting in-house departments on complex legal matters, collaborating with compliance owners to implement corporate procedures, and working effectively with external counsels and stakeholders.

Minimum Eligibility:

  • LLB/LLM from a premier institution
  • Over 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience in reputed corporations
  • Experience in industrial and manufacturing organizations is an added advantage
  • Commitment to being part of the company’s long-term growth

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality legal services and counseling in various areas of law
  • Take ownership and operate independently in delivering legal services
  • Support in-house departments on major and complex legal matters
  • Collaborate with compliance owners to implement corporate compliance procedures
  • Work collaboratively with and support the General Counsel
  • Effectively manage external counsels and monitor their performance
  • Provide day-to-day advice on a wide range of legal matters, including corporate, competition, privacy, data protection, employment, real estate, marketing, consumer protection, EHS, cybersecurity, motor vehicles, and other applicable laws and regulations
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize contracts and agreements related to various company activities
  • Support new business development initiatives, including negotiation, drafting, and execution of documents
  • Manage all disputes and litigation matters, coordinating with external solicitors
  • Design, implement, and enforce company policies and legal SOPs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in India
  • Handle complex matters independently while ensuring a consistent approach to corporate issues
  • Adapt to rapidly changing work and business priorities to provide timely and constructive legal counseling
  • Ensure legal risks are identified, assessed, evaluated, and mitigated through proper strategic and management action plans
