NHRC also plays a key role in human rights education, awareness, and policy engagement across the country.

About the Programme:
The NHRC Winter Internship Programme (WIP) 2025 offers law and social science students a unique opportunity to understand human rights law and practice through academic sessions, interactive discussions, research projects, and field visits.
Duration: 15 December 2025 (Monday) – 9 January 2026 (Friday)

Eligibility Criteria:

• Law students who have completed 3 years (or VI semester) of a 5-year BA/BBA LL.B. course and are in 4th or 5th year
• Students pursuing LL.M.
• Minimum 60% marks in Class XII

Programme Highlights:

• Classroom sessions and interactions with NHRC Chairperson, Members, and senior officers
• Group research project on human rights issues
• Book review, declamation, and documentary-based discussions
• Field visits to institutions like Police Stations, Jails, NGOs, Parliament House, National Commissions, and the Supreme Court of India

Stipend & Allowance:

• Stipend: ₹12,000 for the internship period
• Travel Allowance: 2nd class train fare (to and from Delhi) for interns from outside Delhi

Awards & Recognition:

• Certificates of Participation for successful completion
• Cash Prizes: ₹15,000 (1st), ₹10,000 (2nd), ₹5,000 (3rd) for top group research projects
• Book Prizes for best Book Reviews and Declamation Contest winners
